Export Steps
Open Salon Iris on Your Windows Computer
Salon Iris (also known as DaySmart Salon) is a Windows desktop application. Double-click the Salon Iris icon on your desktop or find it in your Start Menu under DaySmart → Salon Iris. Log in with your manager or owner username and password.
Tip:
You need Manager or Owner access to run client reports and export data. Standard stylist accounts may not have access to the Reports section. Check your access permissions under Settings → Users if you are unsure.
Navigate to the Reports Section
In the Salon Iris top navigation bar, click "Reports". The main reports window will open showing the categories of available reports.
Select Customer Reports
In the Reports window, look for "Customer Reports" in the left column or categories list. Click it. A list of available customer reports will appear on the right side of the window.
Configure Filters and Select Fields
In the Customer Reports section, select "Customer List" or a similar customer listing report. Configure the following: Customer Status = "All" (to include both active and inactive customers); Date Range = All Time; include all locations if you have multiple. Salon Iris has 25+ available reports with customizable columns — select the columns you want: First Name, Last Name, Phone, Email, Last Visit, Status.
Tip:
Salon Iris offers customizable report columns — make sure to select "Last Visit Date" and "Customer Status" as columns, as they may not be included by default in the basic customer list.
Run the Report and Export
Click "Run Report" to generate the customer list. Once the report appears on screen, look for an "Export" option. You can export as: Excel (.xlsx) for the most reliable format, or CSV. Click Export, choose your format, and save the file to your desktop.

Tip:
Salon Iris also has a mobile version (DaySmart Salon app) — if you are on mobile, open the report, tap the Share button, and choose CSV or Excel to email or save the file.
Send to MedMasters
Upload the exported file using the secure MedMasters upload link provided by your account manager.
Note:
Do not email client data. Always use the secure MedMasters upload portal.

Known Quirks
Salon Iris is a Windows desktop application — there is no browser-based export option (mobile app is available but primarily for booking)
Salon Iris calls patients "customers" — standard salon terminology, same data as patient records
Report access may be restricted by employee access level — ensure your login has "Manager" or "Owner" permission level
Pro Tips
Salon Iris offers 25+ report types — if you cannot find a "Customer List" specifically, look for "Customer Activity" or "Customer Overview" which contain the same core fields
Salon Iris has a "Data Retrieval & Export Request Form" on their support site for situations where you need a full data export but cannot access the system (e.g., cancelled account) — submit at support.daysmartsalon.com
