Cloud EHR and practice management platform
Log in to DrChrono
Navigate to drchrono.com and click "Log In" in the top-right corner. Sign in with your physician or admin credentials. DrChrono is fully web-based — no software to install. After login, you will see the Practice Dashboard with upcoming appointments and patient activity.
Tip:
Admin accounts have full report access. If you are logging in as a physician, you should also have reporting access. If Reports is not visible, go to Settings → User Management to verify your account permissions.
Click "Reports" in the Left Sidebar
On the left side of the DrChrono interface, you will see a vertical navigation sidebar with icons and labels. Look for "Reports" and click it. The Reports section will open, showing a list of report categories including Patient, Appointment, Billing, and Financial reports.
Navigate to Patient Reports → Patient Demographics
In the Reports section, click "Patient" or "Patient Reports". Then select "Patient Demographics" from the sub-list. This report exports all patient contact and demographic information in a CSV with snake_case column headers.
Set Status Filter — Run for All Patients
The Patient Demographics report has filter options at the top. Set Patient Status = "All" to capture both active and inactive patients in one export. Set Date Range = "All Time" (leave date fields blank). You do not need to run separate active and inactive exports — a single "All" export is sufficient.
Tip:
DrChrono includes insurance payer information in the standard demographics export — you do not need a separate billing report.
Export to CSV
After the report generates, click "Export" or "Download as CSV" in the report toolbar. The CSV will download immediately. Open the file in Excel to review — you will notice the column headers use lowercase with underscores (snake_case format): first_name, last_name, cell_phone, email, last_appointment_date, etc.
Tip:
The column header format (first_name instead of First Name) is a DrChrono-specific convention. MedMasters will handle the mapping automatically — just note in your upload message that the file is from DrChrono.
Note the snake_case Headers and Send
When you send the file to MedMasters, note in your message: "This is a DrChrono export — column headers are in snake_case format (e.g., first_name, cell_phone)." MedMasters will map these automatically. Upload via the secure link.
Note:
Do not rename the column headers before sending — MedMasters uses the original DrChrono column names for automated mapping.
Which MedMasters data fields are available in this EHR export.
All column headers are snake_case (lowercase with underscores) — e.g., first_name, not "First Name"
DrChrono uniquely includes primary_insurance_payer_name in the standard patient demographics export
Do not rename column headers before sending to MedMasters — the snake_case format is used for automated mapping
Insurance payer data is included by default — no separate billing report needed, unlike most other EHRs
Set Status = "All" in one export rather than running active and inactive separately
Sync type: one way out
Open Account Settings
Log in to DrChrono (web version). Click your name in the top-right corner and select "Account" or "Provider Settings."
Go to the Services Tab
In your account settings, click the "Services" tab.
Find Calendar Sync
Scroll to the top of the Services tab and locate the "Calendar Sync" section.
Connect to Google Calendar
Follow the on-screen prompts to connect your Google account. DrChrono will generate a personal iCal feed that links to your Google Calendar.
Verify the Sync
After connecting, your upcoming DrChrono appointments (limited to the next two weeks) will appear in your Google Calendar within a few minutes.
• One-way sync only: DrChrono → Google Calendar. Events added in Google Calendar do not sync back to DrChrono.
• DrChrono only syncs two weeks of activity at a time due to technical limitations.
• For HIPAA compliance, Google Calendar only displays: office name, exam room, patient chart ID number, and appointment duration. No patient names are shared.
• This sync is not a replacement for the DrChrono scheduling system — use DrChrono to manage appointments.
Got your export? Now what?
The Storage & Handoff Playbook covers verifying, securing, and using the data for compliance, migration, or analytics.
