Export Steps
Sign in to Cliniko
Open your Cliniko subdomain (e.g., yourclinic.cliniko.com) in a desktop browser. You must have account-owner or admin permissions to export patient data.
Go to Patients and Select All
Click "Patients" in the top navigation. Use the search/filter to define the set you want. To export all, leave the filter empty.
Click Export Patients
Click the "..." menu next to the New Patient button and select "Export Patients". Cliniko emails the CSV to your account email when the export is ready.
Tip:
For practices with over 5,000 patients, the email may take 5-10 minutes. Cliniko sends it to the email you log in with.
Download the CSV from Email
Open the email titled "Your Cliniko export is ready" and click the secure link. The link expires after 7 days. Save the file to a HIPAA-compliant location.
Send via Secure Upload Link
Upload the file using the secure link your MedMasters account manager provided. Do not email the CSV file directly — patient contact data must be transmitted securely.
Note:
Never send patient data as a plain email attachment. Patient data sent over unencrypted email violates HIPAA. Use only the secure upload link provided by MedMasters.

Known Quirks
Patient export does not include appointment history — run a separate Appointments report and join by patient ID.
Cliniko is popular in Australia/NZ; phone numbers often include country code (+61, +64).
Pro Tips
Use the Custom Reports feature to combine patient demographics with last-appointment date in one export.
Export both patients and appointments, then VLOOKUP last-visit by patient ID in Excel.
